High Peak Lodge Residential and Nursing Home provides a range of care for older people in a comfortable and homely environment. We focus on enabling people to maintain their independence and control over their lives.
High Peak Lodge has 39 single bedrooms, all of which have en-suite toilet facilities. Our two cosy lounges and dining room at High Peak Lodge enable residents to socialise and dine in comfort.
There is also a conservatory which looks out onto the beautiful garden with a patio area where residents can enjoy spending time outside.
We are close to Leigh town centre with its shopping facilities, the local market and various parks, restaurants and sports centres.
Our care team is on-hand 24 hours a day, every day of the year and are dedicated to delivering care with kindness.
To ensure we continue to provide the best standards of care and support to our residents, we recruit and train only the best staff.
Whilst they receive a variety of on-going training to ensure their skills remain up-to-date, along with an enhanced DBS check (formerly CRB), it is their dedication to our residents which makes them truly special.
We work in partnership with professionals such as physiotherapists, chiropodists, speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, opticians and dieticians to ensure the people we support receive the best possible care in all areas of their health and wellbeing.
We encourage regular interaction with the local community and friends and family are encouraged to be involved through regular visits and participation in special activities, events and open days.
Our activities co-ordinator organises a range of activities designed to maintain the independence of each person and enhance their quality of life. Activities which people can choose to be involved in include movement to music sessions, various board games, dominoes, flower arranging and arts and crafts.
Where possible residents are supported to go out in the community and enjoy the local facilities such as shopping or a pub lunch.
Regular resident and relative meetings are held at High Peak Lodge and attended by the people we support and their families. This is an opportunity for people to voice their opinions on a variety of subjects and discuss upcoming social events.
We aim to empower residents to make their own choices about how they live their lives. We believe that every individual irrespective of their physical, social or psychological condition has the right to be treated with dignity and respect and supported to maintain choice and control over their own lives.
By understanding that people bring with them a life story of achievements, events and life experiences we are able to use this information to ensure a tailored care package for each individual’s specific needs.
We ensure that our person-centred assessments are all tailored to the whole person and we will look at what people can do, not just what they need assistance with. Most importantly we ensure that the individual themselves and their loved ones help us to put together a bespoke plan of care. We appreciate how difficult the decision is to move into permanent or even short stay care and we aim to make this transition as easy as possible.
Meals times are an important part of the day at High Peak Lodge. Our experienced catering staff prepare a varied menu of fresh home cooked food every day and we cater for individual likes and dislikes from a cultural, religious or choice perspective.
