Walton Manor provides residential, dementia and nursing care for older people in a homely environment.
We offer a variety of care and access to a range of services, activities and facilities designed to support people to maintain and increase their independence.
Our home is based over two floors, each with its own dining room and lounge for residents to relax and socialise in. Each bedroom has a telephone point so that people can keep in touch with their friends and family. Individuals are encouraged to personalise and decorate their bedroom in their own style and personalised décor.
Outside, we have relaxing landscaped gardens with patio and a paved area for people to enjoy, especially in the warmer months.
We are situated close to Bootle town centre and the local shops, supermarkets and churches. The transport links here are excellent to travel into other surrounding cities including Liverpool city centre.
Our care team is on-hand 24 hours a day, every day of the year and staff are dedicated to delivering care with kindness.
To ensure we continue to provide the best standards of care and support to our residents, we recruit and train only the best staff.
Whilst they receive a variety of on-going training to ensure their skills remain up-to-date, along with an enhanced DBS check (formerly CRB), it is their dedication to our residents which makes them truly special.
Our Activities Co-ordinators cover six days a week. It is really easy to get out and about from the home as we have our own minibus and the local train station is 50 yards away for access to Liverpool and Southport.
Residents can choose to go out for lunch and other places including museums, theatres, cinemas and the seaside. We regularly invite singers and entertainers to perform.
Events are also organised throughout the year including, summer fetes, Easter bingo, Christmas fairs and fun days.
We welcome regular interaction with the local community and encourage friends and family to be involved through regular visits and participation in special activities, events and open days. We also have an arrangement with the local nursery for some of their children to visit and join in with art and crafts.
We aim to empower residents to make their own choices about how they live their lives and believe that every individual irrespective of their physical, social or psychological condition has the right to be treated with dignity and respect and supported to maintain choice and control over their own lives.
We focus on the individual and their needs and choices remain at the heart of our therapies and activities. Our staff will encourage and motivate people without compromising their privacy or dignity and enable them to increase their own levels of independence.
Our person-centred assessments are all tailored to the whole person and we will look at what people can do, not just what they need assistance with. Most importantly we ensure that the individual themselves and their loved ones help us to put together a bespoke plan of care. We appreciate how difficult the decision is to move into permanent or even short stay care and we aim to make this transition as easy as possible.
Meal times at Willow Gardens are an important part of the day. We encourage all our residents to eat in the dining area and aim to make meals times a positive experience. Our catering staff prepare a menu of home-cooked food every day, and we cater for individual likes and dislikes from a cultural, religious or choice perspective.
