Millport is a quiet coastal town on the Isle of Cumbrae. The island is reached from the mainland by a ferry service that takes around ten minutes from Largs on the west coast of Scotland.
Through our outreach service, we continue to support individuals to live more independently in their own homes whilst receiving assistance with household tasks such as shopping, budgeting and personal care.
Supported living enables individuals to take another step towards living a full and rewarding life as part of their community. Millport is a small yet vibrant island town offering plenty of opportunities for people to work and integrate with local people whilst receiving support with household responsibilities.
To ensure we continue to provide the best standards of care and support to our service users, we recruit and train only the best staff.
Whilst they receive a variety of on-going training to ensure their skills remain up-to-date, along with an enhanced PVG check, it is their dedication to the individuals we support which makes them truly special.
The individuals we support are encouraged to be involved in the thriving island community and further afield on the mainland in order to develop and maintain friendships. They have access to local employment and volunteering opportunities, continue with educational opportunities or make the most of the local leisure opportunities.
A variety of facilities and services are available on the island including bike hire, boat trips, hairdressing and alternative therapies. A short bus and ferry journey, which operates every 15 – 30 minutes, takes you to the mainland where a full range of leisure and education facilities can be accessed.
Our supported living services offer people tailored and targeted support whilst retaining the benefits of independent living.
Our Short Break service supports individuals with learning and or physical disabilities to enjoy a short break in an ordinary holiday environment. This is not always on island and more often than not is much further afield on the mainland and even abroad.
