There was an abundance of bling at a Sanctuary Care home in Weston when residents donned stunning handmade masks for their New Year’s Eve ball.
Residents at Beach Lawns Residential and Nursing Home, which provides care for the elderly, including residential care, nursing, respite and dementia care, decided to welcome 2014 with a masquerade ball.
Armed with gems, glitter and vibrant coloured feathers, they created their own masks during activities sessions.
Activities leader at the Beach Road home, Beverley Nicholson said: “The residents absolutely loved making the masks.
"They wanted them to be as glittery and pretty as they could possibly make them and they achieved that superbly.”
The residents decided they would like to see the New Year in during the day rather than staying up late so enjoyed an afternoon party at the home.
Beverley added: “It was a fantastic party and the residents danced all afternoon and sang Auld Lang Syne - they were all up dancing and rocking and rolling. It was lovely.”
