A centenarian who was one of the first residents to move into a Sanctuary Care home in Iffley cut the home’s first birthday cake.
100-year-old Joan Brown and fellow resident, 96-year-old Joan Critchley marked the milestone birthday of Iffley Residential and Nursing Home on Friday.
Joan Brown said: “I am well looked after here and the staff are all very kind. They work very hard and will do anything you want – they are very helpful. I’m not lonely – time goes so quickly.”
The home’s manager Pam Harper said: “This has been such a special day for our residents, their loved ones and the team here.
“We have only been open a year but in that time we have not only created a home for the incredible people who live here, but truly feel part of a wonderful community – thank you to the people of Iffley who have made us feel so welcome.”
