There were sweet treats galore at three Sanctuary Care homes in Worcestershire last week when residents baked and decorated themed biscuits for Winnie the Pooh Day.
Residents at Ravenhurst Residential Care Home in Stourport-on-Severn got creative, decorating biscuits shaped as Tigger, Eeyore, Piglet and the honey-loving bear himself.
The activity was to mark a national day celebrating the birth of Winnie the Pooh’s creator AA Milne on 18 January 1882.
Meanwhile at Breme Residential Care Home in Bromsgrove residents rolled up their sleeves to bake and decorate biscuits shaped as their favourite characters.
Activities leader Helen Barron said: “All of the residents had a really lovely time. One resident Pauline Smith used to be a domestic science teacher and happily reverted back into ‘teacher mode’ during the activity. She said she really enjoyed mixing all of the ingredients by hand, exactly how it used to be done in her day.”
At Regent Residential Care Home in Worcester, the residents also drew famous characters from the classic book.
