From corn snakes to tarantulas, brave residents at a Sanctuary Care home in Stourport-on-Severn handled some fascinating creatures recently.
The team at Ravenhurst Residential Care Home were amazed by how fearless their residents were when they came face to face with creatures great and small.
Animals for Parties, an organisation which provides educational animal visits, spent the day at the home with a selection of unusual and exotic species, including a corn snake, tarantula and giant millipedes.
The home’s activities leader Carla Siwicki said: “It was the best day ever – our residents absolutely loved it.
“They really shocked the team here by how brave they were – they had snakes draped around their necks and were holding tarantulas.”
The event has been funded by the MoneyBox Fund at Sanctuary Group, Sanctuary Care’s parent company. This is just one of the projects across England to benefit from the fund, which offers funding for community activities taking place in Sanctuary owned homes and schemes.
