Easter was egg-stra special for residents of a Sanctuary Care home in Stourport-on-Severn when the residents welcomed 12 fluffy new feathered friends along.
Ravenhurst Residential Care Home recently took delivery of 12 eggs, which the residents have been watching in an incubator, before they hatched in time for Easter.
Activities leader at the home, which provides care for the elderly, including residential care and dementia care, Carla Siwicki said: “The chicks have made Easter at Ravenhurst even more special and our residents have absolutely loved seeing them hatch and getting to hold them.”
Thelma Longmore, who is 82 said: “It was lovely to watch the eggs hatch and to hold the fluffy chicks.”
The residents have given the birds names beginning with the letter ‘h’ for hen – with everything from Hilda to Henrietta.
