Green-fingered residents at a Sanctuary Care home in Upton-upon-Severn went back to nature to plant saplings at their home’s spring fayre recently.
Residents of Beechwood Residential Care Home in Holly Green joined forces with people from the local community to plant 30 saplings donated by The Woodland Trust.
Manager Jemma Robinson said: “We had a wonderful day with a great turnout – thanks so much to people from the local community who showed their support.
“The saplings will really enhance our gardens and we hope to put the money raised towards building some raised herb gardens for our residents to enjoy.”
The saplings were donated as part of a planting campaign by the trust, which has donated free tree packs to schools and community groups country-wide.
Planting trees and hedgerows supports the environment by providing food and a habitat for birds, insects and other wildlife.
