There was plenty of horsing around at a Sanctuary Care home in Stourport-on-Severn when a four-legged friend trotted along for a visit.
The team and residents at Ravenhurst Residential Care Home recently welcomed 18-year-old equine Rupert into their home, which provides care for the elderly, including residential care and dementia care.
The gentle steed was joined by Elaine Whalley of Be-Equine, who has been training for him for seven years.
The home’s activities leader Carla Siwicki said: “Our residents absolutely loved Rupert and were so eager to stroke him.
“Rupert was lovely – he was so calm and loved the attention.”
One resident in particular was very impressed. Sam Whitehouse, aged 91 said:
“I enjoyed seeing Rupert – I’d put money on him for winning the Grand National!”
