Residents and the team at a Sanctuary Care home in Exmouth enjoyed welcoming the local community and the Mayor of Exmouth to their garden party for a fun-filled afternoon.
Residents and the team at Fernihurst Nursing Home on Douglas Avenue were joined by loved ones, local people and Cllr Bill Nash, Mayor of Exmouth, for garden games and cream teas galore – with a surprise appearance from two horses who belong to a carer at the home.
The event at the home, which provides nursing care and dementia care, raised £425.00. This will be donated to the Residents’ Activities Fund to pay towards treats and trips for the care home’s residents to enjoy.
The home’s activities leader Hazel Tribble said: “Our residents are very sociable and love a good garden party, so we thought what better way to enjoy the end of the summer than to throw our own and welcome the Mayor.
“We all had a brilliant afternoon, especially our residents - and we are absolutely delighted with the amount of money raised for our Residents’ Activities Fund thanks to our visitors. Thank you so much to all those who took the time to join us and to Cllr Bill Nash for making an appearance on the day.”
