Creatures and critters of all shapes and sizes were a huge hit with residents of a Wolverhampton Sanctuary Care home.
Residents of Highcroft Hall Residential Care Home recently received visitors of the furry and four-legged variety when Steffan Pearson, otherwise known ‘The Animal Man’ came along with his mobile zoo.
With a tarantula, royal python and corn snake, plus a barn owl and lizards – the residents loved holding and learning about the creatures.
Activities leader Jayne Woods said: “The residents absolutely adored the raccoons, their eyes just lit up when they saw them.
“It was such a pleasure to see the enjoyment they got out of seeing these magnificent creatures.”
Resident Doris Hurd, aged 93 said: “The baby racoons were so tiny and beautiful.”
Meanwhile 80-year-old Reg Matthews said: “To be able to stroke the baby raccoons, to feel the different textures of all the animals and to be able to get up close to them was lovely.”
