Christmas will come early for the teams and residents at several of Sanctuary Care’s homes, when the residents invite people from their local communities along to festive fayres.
There will be an abundance of seasonal bargains at Ravenhurst Day Care Centre in Lickhill Road North, Stourport-on-Severn tomorrow (Saturday 29 November) between 1pm and 4pm.
With face painting and a special appearance from Father Christmas, plus stalls selling everything from cards, crafts and cakes, there will be something for all the generations to enjoy.
Also taking place tomorrow between 2.15pm and 4.15pm, residents at Highcroft Hall Residential Care Home Old Fallings Lane, Wolverhampton will be selling festive items that they have lovingly crafted themselves.
Among the gifts will be Christmas cards, wreaths and decorative sleighs filled with sweets.
Resident Violet Thomas, who is 84, said: “I have enjoyed making the decorations because of how pretty they can be. It has reminded me of when my children were little and I made crafts with them around the kitchen table.”
Next week on Saturday (6 December) the team at Heathlands Residential Care Home in Station Road, Pershore will be dressed in vintage Victorian attire for their event, which is taking place from 9am until noon.
There will be stalls galore, selling crafts and cakes, plus competitions and games.
The same day Breme Residential Care Home in Providence Road, Bromsgrove will be throwing open the doors between noon and 2pm.
All the money raised at these events will go to the Residents’ Activities Funds, which pays for trips and treats for residents at the homes, which provide residential care and dementia care, to enjoy.
