Residents and the team have rejoiced the milestone birthday of Haven Residential Care Home in Hatch End, Pinner with a traditional tea party and a tasty birthday cake – created by the home’s talented chef, Viviane Takemoto on Friday 23 January.
Where it all began?
The home opened in January 2013 where Mayor of Harrow, Councillor Nana Asante was on hand to cut the traditional red ribbon. Two years on, residents and team members are living in harmony and are often busy taking part in fun events and opening their doors to the wider community.
Perfect reason to celebrate
Audrey Myers, who is 86 and has lived at the home since the opening, said: “I am well looked after here and the staff are all very kind. They work very hard and will do anything you want – they are all very helpful and for this reason I’m pleased to have celebrated the home’s second birthday with my fellow residents. Plus, who doesn’t love a cheeky slice of birthday cake?”
The home’s activities leader Urvashi Kapur added: “We were all looking forward to our special day with our wonderful residents here at Haven Residential Care Home. A second birthday may seem small to other people but to us we are all so proud to be a part of a fantastic home and it’s a perfect excuse to celebrate.
“We have only been open two years but in that time we have not only created a home for the incredible people who live here, but truly feel part of a wonderful community – thank you to the people of Hatch End who have made us feel so welcome.”
