Toe-tapping entertainment made its way through a Sanctuary Care home in Plymouth when a performing arts group dropped by.
Local talent, Allsorts Entertainment has shared their love of musicals with residents, family and staff at Ivydene Residential and Nursing Home this week.
60 minutes of well-known musicals
Armed with loud and colourful costumes, the upbeat performance took the audience on a whistle stop tour through well-known musicals for everyone to enjoy – including big songs, expressive dancing and not forgetting giggles and laughter.
The 60 minute sing-along fun was free to all guests and was enjoyed with tea and biscuits on the side.
Evelyn Lloyd, leader of Allsorts Entertainment Group, said: “Everyone here at Allsorts Entertainment Group were thrilled to be invited to Ivydene. We all love musicals and we thoroughly enjoyed performing well-known classics from the resident’s heyday – we hope everyone enjoyed the show!
“As with many of our musical adventures, Allsorts set out to provide a memorable show in a bid to share our love of music to many audiences like with the team and lovely residents at Ivydene.”
Whirlwind of musical bliss
Alison Taylor, close relative to one of the residents, added: “I had a wonderful afternoon, it was a fantastic performance – I really liked all the vibrant costumes. Allsorts played a wide range of songs and it was great to sing along!”
The Sanctuary Care home’s activity leader Laura Charters said: “Everyone was really looking forward to the Allsorts Entertainment Group popping in – what they planned was a whirlwind of musical fun!
“Residents and the team are often singing away so it was nice to have the professionals to come in and show us how it’s done. The visit was really uplifting.”
