Iffley Residential and Nursing Home in Oxford has celebrated its second birthday by bringing residents and staff together for birthday festivities.
The Sanctuary Care team organised a traditional tea party complete with a tasty birthday cake and professional singing entertainment for the residents and their family and friends to enjoy.
Everyone played a big part to mark the milestone birthday! While local singer, Cody, performed recognisable hits with his guitar, 100 year-old resident, Charles Clapton, had the important part of cutting the cake.
Charles said: “Iffley is a happy home and I’m pleased to be celebrating the home’s second birthday with my fellow residents and the wonderful team.”
Residents and team members enjoyed the celebrations and turned the clock back to remember the enjoyable times they’ve had in the home to date.
Two years on from the 2013 opening, everyone is living in harmony with residents often taking part in fun events and staff opening their doors to the wider community.
The home’s activities leader Mandy Bloomfield added: “We have only been open two years but in that time we have not only created a home for the incredible people who live here, but truly feel part of a wonderful community – thank you to the people of Iffley who have made us feel so welcome.”
