Creatures of all shapes and sizes visited a Sanctuary Care home in Stourport-on-Severn last week.
Residents at Ravenhurst Residential Care Home in Lickhill Road North enjoyed meeting Ricketty the Chilean Rose Tarantula, Shaka the Corn Snake and Tula the Barn Owl.
Undoubtedly the star of the show was Coco the African Pygmy Hedgehog who was adored by all.
Resident Dorrie Washbrook, who is 97 years old said: "It was wonderful to hold the animals and to see them close up."
Activities leader at the home Carla Siwicki said: "The residents were so interested in the animals and couldn't wait to have their turn to hold them. They really liked the hedgehog because he was just so cute and also the Barn Owl."
Activities assistant Kelly Roberts also conquered her fear of arachnids by getting up close and personal with the Tarantula.
She said: "I can't believe I held her - she was lovely."
The collection were brought to the home by John Idle from Leicester company Animals For Parties. John added: "I enjoy coming to care homes and seeing the faces of the residents light up when they see animals they have only ever seen on television."
