There was plenty of horsing around at a Sanctuary Care home in Upton-upon-Severn, when four-legged friends dropped by for a visit.
Fern and Fifi
Fern and Fifi, Miniature Shetland Ponies, trotted along to visit residents and the team at Beechwood Residential Care Home in Holly Green last week (Saturday 4 July).
The four-legged visitors, both the size of a Great Dane, have a gentle nature and love to meet new people.
Tina King, the home’s activities leader, said: “All our residents absolutely loved Fern and Fifi’s visit. Their faces lit up when they arrived and they all couldn’t wait to have a fuss!”
The popular visitors were from The Phoenix Children’s Foundation and trips to care homes, like Beechwood, help to support the group’s charitable work.
Tina added: “Not only did the visit from the ponies bring joy and special memories to our residents but it also enabled Sanctuary Care to donate funds to a fantastic charitable cause!”
