Residents at a Sanctuary Care home in Stourport-on-Severn were transported down under when they celebrated Australia Day.
Yesterday the team at Sanctuary Care’s Ravenhurst Residential Care Home in Lickhill Road North organised a fun-filled day for their residents – celebrating all things great and good about Australia.
The home, which provides residential care and dementia care, was bursting with colour and adorned with flags, plus the residents explored an authentic didgeridoo while trying their hand at artwork depicting some of the country’s most treasured animals, including koalas and kangaroos. The residents also proudly displayed cork hats, known as Hobbly-Bobs.
The home’s activities leader Carla Siwicki said: “Our residents celebrate Australia Day every year. They love this fascinating and beautiful country and have great fun bringing its beauty to Worcestershire.”
26 January is officially Australia Day – a national day where people celebrate what it is to be Australian.
