Culinary creative residents at two Sanctuary Care homes enjoyed fun ways to get their ‘five a day’ as part of Nutrition and Hydration Week.
There was an ap-peel-ing variety of colourful produce when residents at Rowanweald Residential and Nursing Home and Iffley Residential and Nursing Home rolled up their sleeves to juice healthy drinks.
Peeling and slicing an abundance of bananas, apples, melons, mangos and other colourful fruit and vegetables, residents made and sampled delicious smoothie drinks.
Enjoy the different flavours
Rowanweald resident Pamela Bromham said: “The smoothie making session was great fun – I really enjoyed tasting all the different flavours.”
The tangy get-together supported the wellbeing drive by promoting easy and effective ways to live a healthier lifestyle to residents, their friends and family while highlighting other health benefits to eating cleaner.
Home manager at Iffley Sue Stubbersfield said: “We always promote healthy living here at the home so when we heard about Nutrition and Hydration Week we knew we had to support it and what better way to do so than getting residents and their loved ones involved in juicing!”
