The teams and residents at Sanctuary Care’s homes across the Midlands are welcoming local people along to their Care Home Open Day tomorrow.
Friday (17 June) is Care Home Open Day, a day when homes invite local people along to share a special day with their residents.
At Highcroft Hall Residential Care Home in Bushbury, one of Sanctuary Care’s three Wolverhampton homes, the globe-trotting team and residents are hosting an ‘around the world’ themed event between 10.30am and 4pm.
The team will don outfits representing countries across the world including Hawaiian grass skirts and floral garlands.
There will be food representing different countries, plus live music in the afternoon.
Manager Andrew Greenway said: “Our residents and the team here love to get dressed up for special occasions, so do come along and celebrate Care Home Open Day with us.”
Meanwhile in Telford, at Lake View Residential Care Home in Brookside the theme for the event will be a regal inspired street party to mark The Queen’s 90th birthday.
The residents will proudly be wearing homemade crowns, tiaras and themed accessories.
As part of the celebrations there will be live music from across the decades with singer Wayne Tulsa, who will perform from 11am to 12.30pm, plus an abundance of mouth-watering cakes.
