The bunting will be up, the cupcakes baked to perfection and a sensational singer’s vocal chords warmed up ready for a Care Home Open Day in Chester.
On Friday 17 June, from 2.30pm to 6.30pm, the team and residents at Sanctuary Care’s Upton Dene Residential and Nursing Home, on Caldecott Close are throwing open the doors and inviting the community along for a very special Care Home Open Day celebration.
The theme for the free event will be a vintage inspired royal garden party to mark The Queen’s 90th birthday, with live music from jazz singer Clare Walker, an abundance of mouth-watering cakes and cod goujons and chips prepared by the home’s head chef Julian Davison.
Manager at the home Hilary Price said: “We officially opened our home in April so this will be our very first Care Home Open Day, so we would love to welcome lots of new faces along to share what promises to be a very special day with our residents.”
Friday 17 June marks the fourth annual Care Home Open Day, when homes nationwide open their doors and welcome people to share a special day with their teams and residents, forging lasting links with their local communities.
