There will be summer fun and four-legged friends at a Sanctuary Care home’s annual community fete in Yarnton this weekend.
On Saturday (20 August), between 2.30pm and 4.30pm, people from the local community are invited to Yarnton Residential and Nursing Home in Rutten Lane where there will be something for all the generations to enjoy.
For Oxfordshire animal lovers, a four-legged donkey friend – who is a very popular hit with residents, 20-year-old Nelly will be trotting by, and a dog show will also be taking place.
Sharing his joy for Nelly, Geoffrey Havilland (pictured) who is 86 years old, said: “Oh she’s so lovely and certainly likes to share ice cream with you.”
Stalls galore and community bake off
There will also be stalls galore including face painting and a bake off, where homemade treats will be judged by the home’s award-winning chef on the day.
The Sanctuary Care home’s manager Sheena Montague said: “Our residents really enjoy our annual summer fete so we do hope as many people as possible can join us for what promises to be a very special day.”
