A Sanctuary Care home in Harrow has been giving something back to the community by donating homemade treats to the homeless.
Following the baking session, residents and the home’s activities leader Sunita Ramasawmy presented the mouth-watering cakes to the charity’s manager Julian Saunders.
Resident Margaret Kaszubiwski, who is 88 years old said: “I really enjoyed decorating the cakes and it felt a rewarding thing to do.”
Fellow resident, 92-year-old Helen Codon added: “It was such a lovely idea and a great cause to help local people, I thoroughly enjoyed being involved.”
Sunita added: “We all wanted to do something special this Christmas time – Christmas is about sharing joy and we really wanted to do this with local people who are in need or could potentially be spending Christmas alone.
“Firm Foundation is a wonderful charity – a cause so close to my heart, the support network that they provide is fundamental to so many vulnerable people.”
