A number of Sanctuary Care homes in London will be raising a cuppa and baking sweet treats for a charity close to their hearts.
The team and residents will be hosting Time for a Cuppa tea parties for their local communities, where visitors are invited to pop along to enjoy mouth-watering cakes in exchange for a donation for Dementia UK.
The team and residents at Rowanweald Residential and Nursing Home in Weald Lane are inviting local people to their tea party celebration on Friday 3 March, between 2.30pm and 4.30pm.
There will be a variety of sweet treats and dainty cakes and live 1940s music from Charlotte Borg at 2.30pm.
The tea party festivities will be followed by a Dementia Friends session at 3.30pm, an initiative run by the Alzheimer’s Society that will not only provide visitors with a greater understanding of dementia and highlight the simple ways people can support those living with dementia
Meanwhile, Riverlee Residential and Nursing Home in Franklin Place will throw open the doors for high-tea fun on Tuesday 7 March, between 11.30am and 4.30pm.
The residents and the team will be donning brightly coloured attire, as well as organising a range of fun activities for visitors to take part in, including ball games and quizzes.
The Sanctuary Care home’s activities leader Tina Suleiman said: “We always support Dementia UK here at Riverlee and we really wanted to make this year’s tea party a huge success so there will be lots of bright colours, tasty refreshments and fun and games for all ages to enjoy.
“We hope as many of our neighbours and local families can come and support us with our fundraising efforts.”
Finally, the team and residents at Hawthorn Green Residential and Nursing Home in Redmans Road will be serving up delicious refreshments and hosting fun activities and quizzes for their Time for a Cuppa celebration on Wednesday 8 March, between 10am and 12pm.
