A Sanctuary Care home in Upton, Chester is getting set for an egg-cellent Easter with egg-citing arts and crafts and community celebrations this weekend.
The team and residents at Upton Dene Residential and Nursing Home in Caldecott Close are hosting an Easter Fayre for the community to enjoy on Saturday (15 April) between 2pm and 6pm.
There will be stalls galore including cakes, books and a raffle, as well as face painting fun.
In the run up to the weekend’s festivities, residents have been rolling up their sleeves to create an Easter tree decorated with brightly coloured hand-painted eggs and other themed decorations.
“I love this time of year”
83-year-old resident, Norma Long, who helped decorate the home’s tree, said: “I love this time of year and all the chocolate and really enjoyed making my eggs.”
Activities leader Bernie Harding said: “Easter is a wonderful time of year, our residents have many fond memories of celebrating Easter with their families so we can’t wait to celebrate with the community and add new memories. There will be fabulous activities, mouth-watering treats and more importantly a lot of fun and cheer!”
The address for those wishing to attend is Upton Dene Residential and Nursing Home, Caldecott Close, Chester CH2 1FD.
