Ahead of Dementia Awareness Week (14-20 May), a Sanctuary Care home in Wolverhampton is hosting a free event to support local people.
The team at East Park Court Residential Care Home are hosting a free dementia awareness café this week on Thursday (11 May), between 2pm and 4pm at St Matthew’s Church in East Park Way.
The team from the care home will be offering support for those caring for a loved one living with dementia. It will be a great opportunity to meet fellow carers and people who have experience of living with dementia.
Raising awareness and showing support
The Sanctuary Care home’s activities leader Roxanne Cullis said: “It is so important that we raise awareness of dementia and show support to local people and our community dementia café does just that.
“Carers in the community can sometimes feel very isolated so we want to give people the chance to meet others in a similar position to show them that they are not alone.”
Tea, coffee and refreshments will be available.
The address for those wishing to attend the event is St Matthew’s Church, 7 East Park Way, Wolverhampton WV1 2ND.
