Come along and join the team and residents at a Sanctuary Care home in Harwich as they throw open the doors for a Care Home Open Day celebration this week.
On Friday 16 June, between 10am and midday and 2pm and 4pm, people from the local community are invited to Don Thomson House Residential Care Home to enjoy a very special celebration.
Summer picnic and fond memories
The Low Road home will be hosting a traditional summer’s picnic with blankets and hamper baskets galore as well as delicious refreshments including finger sandwiches and mouthwatering cakes.
Residents and the team will also be sharing treasured memories with a reminiscence quiz in the morning and memory box fun in the afternoon. Visitors are also encouraged to bring a special memory of their own along with them, whether it's an old photo or other memorabilia.
Friday 16 June marks the fifth annual Care Home Open Day, when homes nationwide open their doors and welcome people to share a special day with their teams and residents, forging lasting links with their local communities.
The theme for this year is friendship, so if anyone would be interested in attending and making some new friends at Don Thomson House please drop in anytime between 10am and midday and 2pm and 4pm.
The address for those wishing to attend is:
Low Road, Dovercourt, Harwich CO12 3TS.
