On Sunday 1 October, between 2pm and 4pm, older people from the local community are invited to Meadow View Residential Care Home on Blackthorn Road, where the team and residents will host a 1950s Rock ‘n’ Roll inspired event.
Silver Sunday is a national day which celebrates older people and their contribution to our society, with communities and organisations hosting free events to help combat loneliness and reduce isolation.
For Sanctuary Care, this year’s Silver Sunday is extra special, because it marks the start of the 20th anniversary of when we started delivering care.
The residents, team and visitors at Meadow View will be transported back to the 1950s, with live music and a scrumptious afternoon tea menu to enjoy, including a variety of finger sandwiches and cakes.
The homes manager, Matt Wood said: “Silver Sunday is such a special day so we hope to see some new faces from our local community come along to join us as we celebrate older people and the contribution they make to our society. Our residents are all really looking forward to it.”
Venue: Meadow View Residential Care Home, Blackthorn Road, Hersden, Canterbury CT3 4GB.
