Sanctuary Care residents enjoyed a traditional vintage fete this weekend from the comfort of their Bridgwater home as they celebrated Silver Sunday.
There was live music, traditional garden games and an abundance of mouth-watering food including candy floss when the team and residents at The Rosary Nursing Home, invited local older people along to their traditional fete themed event.
Silver Sunday is a national day which celebrates older people and their contribution to our society, with communities and organisations hosting free events to help combat loneliness and reduce isolation.
For Sanctuary Care, this year’s Silver Sunday was extra special, as it marked the beginning of the organisation’s 20 year anniversary of delivering care.
The Mayfield Drive home, threw open the doors, where there was live music, and a high tea menu for everyone to enjoy, with a variety of finger sandwiches and cakes.
Home manager, Natali Edwards said: “Having worked at The Rosary for 21 years, the best part of my job is still seeing the residents enjoy themselves. Everyone has thoroughly enjoyed Silver Sunday; we’ve all had such great fun at our indoor vintage fete.”
