Sanctuary Care home residents in Ivybridge stepped back in time to the roaring 1940s to celebrate Silver Sunday.
There was live music, fabulous frocks and mouth-watering food when the team and residents at Ivydene Residential and Nursing Home invited local older people along to their 1940s wartime event.
Taking a trip down memory lane, the Staniforth Drive home threw open the doors.
The team ensured they looked picture perfect, with the ladies donning vintage dresses, victory rolls and red lipstick and the gents in suits and braces. Special guest, the Mayor of Ivybridge, Cllr Anthony Khong joined in with the special day’s festivities.
For Sanctuary Care, this year’s Silver Sunday was extra special as it marked the beginning of the organisation’s 20 year anniversary of delivering care.
The Sanctuary Care home’s activities leader Lucy Cassidy added: “Our residents, staff and visitors all really embraced Silver Sunday. The celebrations were full of smiles, laughter and dancing - it was the perfect way to mark this special day”.
