There will be hot chocolate, scrumptious cakes and plenty of friendly faces as a Sanctuary Care home in Hersden launch a special dementia café.
On Wednesday 1 November, between 3pm and 4pm, the local community are invited to Meadow View Residential Care Home on Blackthorn Road, where the team and residents are holding a winter themed afternoon tea to celebrate the launch of their dementia friendly café.
The new café, will be open on the first Wednesday of each month from 3pm to 4pm and will provide a safe, welcoming space for the local community, particularly those living with, or caring for someone with dementia to meet people in a similar situation.
There will be scrumptious finger sandwiches, hot chocolate, mulled wine and cakes to enjoy at the event, which will be a great opportunity to meet the caring team and residents, look around the welcoming home and café and find out more about life at Meadow View, which provides residential and residential dementia care.
The Sanctuary Care home’s manager Matt Wood said: “Our residents are really looking forward to our afternoon tea and are especially excited about welcoming new and familiar faces from the local community.
We will be more than happy to answer any questions and show people around our lovely home.”
The launch is perfectly timed as coincides with the beginning of Sanctuary Care’s 20 year anniversary of delivering care.
If you are unable to make the event but would still like to visit the home or find out more about the dementia friendly café please call the team on 01227 207 117.
