Residents at a Sanctuary Care home want to thank their young friends at a nursery in Birmingham on World Kindness Day.
On World Kindness Day (Monday 13 November) the staff and residents at the Sanctuary Care home would like to thank the children and the staff at the nursery for their new-found friendship.
Home manager Leanne Carter said: “Sanctuary Care’s vision is ‘keeping kindness at the heart of our care’ and the children at Foundations Day Nursery have given our residents the best gift of all, the gift of time.
“Intergenerational projects like this are so important for young people as well as the older generation and we are so pleased that they have chosen our home to visit.”
Nursery manager Janet Parker said: “The children are always asking us if they can go and see the ‘nannies and granddads at the big house’ and are always making things for them. It is really rewarding and the residents will be coming to see our nativity play too soon.”
World Kindness Day is day which celebrates kindness in society and day to day life, encouraging individual acts of kindness.
