The team at a Sanctuary Care home in Leicester are over the moon after being shortlisted for a prestigious care award.
Asra House Residential Care Home on Asha Margh has been shortlisted in the Care Team category of the East Midlands Care Awards, part of the Great British Care Awards, following a surprise nomination by Sanctuary Care.
Asra House provides specialist care for residents with an Asian lifestyle, whole-heartedly embracing and celebrating every aspect of their cultural needs and beliefs. This shortlisting follows the home receiving a ‘Good’ rating in all five outcomes, including ‘safe’, ‘caring’ and ‘well-led’ in their recent CQC inspection report.
“We are all really thrilled”
Speaking of the award home manager, Dina Dasani said: “We are all really thrilled and overwhelmed to have been shortlisted for this prestigious award, it means so much to all of the team.
“We all work very closely with each other, our residents and their families to ensure that our residents receive the highest standards of care and this shortlisting is a great tribute to that. We are incredibly proud.”
The award is for a care team which is able to demonstrate a shared vision, utilising excellent communication skills whilst demonstrating an on-going commitment to the dignity and privacy of those they care for.
“They always go above and beyond”
Also commenting on the award the son of one of the residents said: “The team at Asra House take care of the residents as their own loved ones. They always go above and beyond and I could not ask for better care for my dad.”
Best of luck!
Members of the team will attend an awards gala night on Friday 17 November at the East Midlands Conference Centre in Nottingham, where the category winners will be announced.
The winners of the regional awards will then go forward to the Great British Care Awards national finals, which will take place in February in Birmingham.
This year’s awards are perfectly timed as mark the beginning of Sanctuary Care’s 20 year anniversary of delivering care.
