A Sanctuary Care home in Harwich is throwing open the doors this Boxing Day to welcome people from the local community who may be alone this Christmas time.
The team and residents from Don Thomson House Residential Care Home on Low Road are inviting older people who are facing Christmas alone, to a Boxing Day tea from 3pm to 6pm on Tuesday 26 December.
There will be festive refreshments including mince pies, a finger buffet, fun games and activities and the event will be the perfect opportunity to meet new friendly faces from the home and local community.
A warm welcome
Donna Ashman, home manager at Don Thomson House said: “We love Christmas here, it’s a time to share happiness and good wishes, which is why we want to extend our welcome to those who may want a bit of extra company.
“Our residents are really looking forward to welcoming both new and familiar faces from the local community along. Christmas is no time to be alone, so we really do hope people will join us this Boxing Day.”
