Residents at a Sanctuary Care home in Bromsgrove are getting set to spread festive cheer as they embrace Elf Day.
The team and residents at Breme Residential Care Home on Providence Road have been crafting vibrant elf ears and decorations ahead of their Elf Day celebrations on Friday 8 December.
Embracing their inner elf, the team will be dressing in red and green with long stripped socks to accompany the residents’ home-made ears.
“I love the idea of being an elf”
82-year-old resident Phyllis Wakeman said: “Dressing up is all good fun, I don’t mind being a silly elf and the older you get the less you mind about being or looking silly.”
Fellow resident Florence Morris who is 93 added: “I love the idea of being an elf, I have told my family all about it and I am looking forward to our party to raise money for Alzheimer’s Society.”
Home manager Rebecca Rudge said: “Our residents are really looking forward to Elf Day, especially as it ties in with the home’s annual Christmas Party.
“The home will be filled with singing, smiles and laughter and of course, a few mischievous elves!”
Welcoming the community
Breme Residential Care Home will also be throwing open the doors to the local community as they host a number of festive treats, including:
- Special festive exercise class on Tuesday 19 December at 11am.
- Breme Christmas Carol Concert complete with mulled wine, mince pies and hot chocolate on Wednesday 20 December at 3pm.
Rebecca added: “We are really looking forward to welcoming people of all ages from the local community into our home this Christmas time; new and familiar faces alike.”
