Sanctuary Care in the finals for employer awards!

Worcestershire Health and Social Care Awards 2022 Finalist graphic

We are proud to reveal that Sanctuary Care has got through to the finals of the Health Care Employer category of the Worcestershire Health & Social Care Awards.

The awards, run by the Worcester News, shine a light on the incredible people and organisations within the health and social care sector.

Following the news, Chief Operating Officer Sarah Clarke-Kuehn said: “At Sanctuary Care we are passionate about investing in our staff. By showing them they are valued and supported, they remain motivated and inspired to provide the best care for our residents.

"We are delighted to have been shortlisted for this accolade – it’s testament to our dedication to enriching the lives of our staff as well as the residents they are so proud to care for.”

Proudly not-for-profit, Sanctuary Care’s surplus income is re-invested back into our homes, as well as supporting staff both professionally and personally.

With over 6,000 staff across 98 care homes in England and Scotland (nine of which are in Worcestershire), we invest heavily in supporting their physical and mental well-being.

Staff receive a wealth of benefits and free support, from an advice and counselling service, a helpline offering support with everything from financial to legal matters, savings on healthcare costs, a 24/7 GP helpline and occupational health.

We are passionate about giving staff the best tools to provide exceptional care. Our bespoke electronic care planning app kradle, created in-house by our project team, which included our Worcestershire care staff and Sanctuary’s Technology team, is live in our 80 care homes in England. Replacing paper-based plans, kradle gives staff around 90 minutes more time to spend with residents every shift.

Listening to staff, having the ability to spot and nurture talent and supporting careers to flourish is essential to retain people who share our values. With our own in-house Learning and Nurse Development Team, staff can access bespoke courses.

Supporting staff with their mental health has always been paramount. We are currently launching mental health training nationally to our homes, empowering staff to look after their mental health and spot signs that someone might be struggling.

The awards, in partnership with the University of Worcester, will be streamed online through the Worcester News Facebook page on 13 October, so watch this space!
