“I’m proud of the love, loyalty and kindness I see here every day,” Dion’s journey

We chat to Dion, who manages The Green Care Home in Redruth and loves nothing more than ‘the beautiful little moments’ that fill the home’s day.

She has been working in the care sector for ten years and the joy of arriving at work to see smiling faces is why she loves her job.

“We want everyone here to enjoy every second of their time with us and, to that end, do everything we can to make this stage of their lives as special and fulfilling as we can,” she explains.

Dion grew up locally and always knew she wanted a career in care. She started her first job as a care assistant when she was seventeen and has since gained experience within every area of a care home setting, before becoming manager at The Green.

“Our residents have so much to give and I love seeing their confidence and independence grow when they come here. I truly believe in enriching lives and taking care of our residents as if they were my own parents.”

At 27, Dion is proud to be one of Sanctuary Care’s youngest managers and has gained a wealth of experience in our homes across Cornwall.

She adds: “The fact that two members of The Green’s staffing team have just celebrated forty years each in the job is testament to how much the home has captured their hearts.

“I’m proud of the love, loyalty and kindness I see here every day. They care and I care, and that’s what our residents deserve.”
