Our Launceston care home
Cedar Grange is a beautiful building set in the historic market town of Launceston - known as the 'Gateway to Cornwall'. There's a range of shops, restaurants and attractions nearby. The home itself provides a safe and relaxing environment for elderly people to enjoy their later years.
Each bedroom has an en-suite wet room, while the top-floor rooms host far-reaching views over the town. Our ground-floor rooms provide private access to our enclosed communal gardens.
Our care home in Launceston features four units, each featuring its own lounge and diner, with kitchenettes where residents can make their own snacks. These units also provide Wi-Fi access, and glass-walled sunrooms, allowing our residents and visiting loved ones to admire the delightful scenery. For one-to-one activities, we have a dedicated quiet room too.
The home's two gardens provide lovely spaces for our residents to enjoy - with raised flower beds and patio areas. The grounds are flat, so all residents can easily enjoy the space. One of the gardens is sensory-themed with seasonal plants, while the other features a vegetable patch. Here, we grow our own produce as part of our Grow Your Own Way initiative.
Our tailored care for elderly people
At Cedar Grange, we look after residents with a variety of needs and requirements, from residential to general nursing care. Our highly trained staff provide exceptional supervision, and our nurse call system gives you or your loved one total peace of mind.
The care we provide is planned around the needs of people. We're all different. When you or your loved one joins us at our nursing home in Launceston, we’ll work to develop a comprehensive care plan, setting out the support we aim to provide. It’s continually assessed and will evolve to ensure needs are being met in the most effective way.
We also offer pre-bookable short and long-term respite care - designed for carers who need to take a break from their duties, or elderly people recovering after illness, an operation or a hospital stay.
Our activities at Cedar Grange
We promote independence and encourage our residents to participate in the things they enjoy most - whether it’s music, arts and crafts, reading, etc.
We’re a green-fingered bunch, with our own gardening club. We take pride in making sure our garden looks its delightful best, as well as growing our own veggies. The team also runs weekly Pets as Therapy (PAT) sessions, where we welcome four-legged friends to Cedar Grange. These visits are always a highlight, bringing lots of joy to the home.
Our staff also organise trips out to Launceston, as well as nearby Bude and Bodmin to enjoy the sights of the seaside with fish and chips (and maybe ice cream too!). There’s always something to get involved in our residential and dementia care home in Launceston.
Our compassionate staff
Sanctuary Care is proudly for people, not for profit . This means any of our surplus income goes straight back into our homes, residents and staff. It enables us to continually provide the level of support you or your loved one deserves.
Our staff are trained to deliver support to people living with different forms of dementia, such as Alzheimer’s, as well as many other illnesses. They do so in a dignified and compassionate way.
Pricing information
It is usual for residents in care homes to contribute to the cost of their own care. Some people have the resources to pay for this in full, whilst others make means-tested contributions.
Our weekly fees are individual to each of our residents and are subject to a pre-admission assessment, which is required to understand the level of care and support needed. Our 2024 weekly care fees for residential care start from £1,511, and for nursing care £1,995 but may be in the region of 30% more*. This depends on your care needs and the type of bedroom that is right for you, from our standard rooms through to our premium bedroom options.
*If you require more specialist care such as 1-2-1 support, your weekly fee could be higher.
