Residential Care
The devoted teams in our residential care homes support older people with truly person-centred care, promoting their independence and enriching their lives.
Our residential care homes have all the comforts you’d expect, with the small personal touches that make them feel special.
Moving into a home doesn’t mean someone needs to leave their previous life behind. We support our residents to be as independent as possible, safe in the knowledge that our dedicated staff are there around-the-clock to offer support with everything from getting dressed in the morning, to providing personal care with dignity.
What can I expect from residential care?
We pride ourselves on caring for our residents as though they were members of our own family. It’s this close bond they share which makes our homes feel special.
Our residential care homes are designed with all the usual comforts you would expect from home, creating a relaxing atmosphere with features such as lounges and dining rooms. And our residents are supported to personalise their furnished bedrooms to make them truly feel like home, with everything from precious pictures to small pieces of furniture.
By working closely with other healthcare professionals, we are able to care for people who have underlying health conditions. Often district nurses can come into our residential homes and administer insulin, change dressings and take blood pressure, so our residents can often remain in the comfort of home when they need a little extra support.
Unlike home care, dedicated care is on hand round the clock for our residents, even if it's just for a cup of tea and a natter there is always someone there to help. Our residents build lasting bonds with both our teams and their fellow residents too. Read more about the advantages of residential care here.
Enriching lives in residential care
In partnership with our residents and their relatives, we create a bespoke care plan to build a picture of not only their health and wellbeing needs, but also their emotional, social and spiritual needs.
We take the time to discover who they really are and what they loved doing before moving into residential care, so we can support them to live life to the full.
We tailor care and support to residents’ personal needs, so whether it’s something as simple as knowing they like their tea in a special cup, to helping someone to rekindle a much-loved past time; we are there every step of the way.
Our residents are free to spend their time how they choose, whether taking part in activities such as crafts or baking, simply relaxing in the garden or being pampered in the hair salon. We have staff devoted to supporting our residents to enjoy engaging activities and experiences, which are truly meaningful to them.
In all of our residential care homes, our chefs prepare a variety of delicious, seasonal home-cooked meals, with taste and nutrition at the heart of every dish. Residents can enjoy everything from roast dinners with all the trimmings to lighter bites, and freshly baked sweet treats each day for afternoon tea.
If the time comes when someone’s needs increase from simply requiring residential care to something more, we can often work closely with district nurses so we can continue to care for them in the comfort and privacy of their home.
