Our nursing home in St Austell
Trevarna features 54 bedrooms – 14 with ensuite bathrooms and five with toilets and sinks. They all offer lovely leafy views of the surrounding gardens. Some of our larger rooms also offer direct access to our internal garden space.
We want Trevarna to truly feel like a home-from-home for our residents. That’s why we encourage them to make their bedrooms their own – with trinkets and comforts that remind them of loved ones and cherished memories.
Life at Trevarna is largely centred around our communal areas, with five spacious lounge/dining areas where we gather to catch up, get involved in games and activities, and enjoy a hearty meal together – a daily highlight! Residents also have access to an on-site hair salon.
The Shamrock suite provides access to the garden, so our green-fingered residents can often be found in here engaging in a spot of horticulture when the weather isn’t so great outside.
Our home is surrounded by grassy space. However, it’s our internal gardens where we love to gather on those nice Cornish days. Wooden benches and a sun shelter provide the perfect spots to enjoy the vibrant sights of the flower beds.
Daily life at Trevarna care home
We’re a lively bunch. Here, at Sanctuary Care, we strongly believe that life as it once was doesn’t have to end when you or a loved one moves into a care home. Our team encourages residents to continue partaking in the hobbies that make them happy. Residents are always free to make their own plans.
There’s always lots going on around our nursing home to get involved in too. Our dedicated activities team is always hard at work, preparing engaging events for our residents. These include arts and crafts sessions, visits from local entertainers, choir groups and lots more.
Our person-centric approach to care
Care at Trevarna is person-centred, supporting our residents’ individual needs - whether they’re living with a form of dementia or affected by a complex health condition.
Our team of carers and nurses work closely with our residents and their loved ones to create our detailed and tailored care plans. This ensures we can enrich our residents’ lives, looking at what makes every resident unique.
We also offer care temporarily via our respite care service. Our respite care can be booked from one to six weeks, and provides the perfect opportunity for carers to take a break of their own, It’s designed to offer peace of mind that their loved one will continue to get all the support they need.
We also provide emergency respite care. Get in touch with our team today to find out more.
Our passionate care team
We’re proud of the special environment the team at Trevarna Residential and Nursing Home has created.
The team is often complimented on the home’s family-friendly atmosphere – always giving visiting loved ones the warmest of welcomes. We have several long-serving staff members too, which only adds to the close-knit bond our residents share with them.
They’re highly skilled in delivering person-centric care. And they’re passionate about caring for individuals, with an approach that looks beyond the illness and considers the needs of the person – because everyone is unique.
As a not-for-profit care organisation, we ensure all of our surplus income goes back into our residents, care homes and staff. We’re always looking to make our care the very best it can be.

Pricing information
It is usual for residents in care homes to contribute to the cost of their own care. Some people have the resources to pay for this in full, whilst others make means-tested contributions.
Our weekly fees are individual to each of our residents and are subject to a pre-admission assessment, which is required to understand the level of care and support needed. Our 2024 weekly care fees for residential care start from £1,393 and for nursing care £1,790, but may be in the region of 30% more*. This depends on your care needs and the type of bedroom that is right for you, from our standard rooms through to our premium bedroom options.
*If you require more specialist care such as 1-2-1 support, your weekly fee could be higher.
