Our Sunderland care home boasts extensive gardens. There is a conservatory that opens to a separate courtyard, where residents can enjoy the warmer summer months.

The gardens of our care home are accessible for wheelchairs, which is ideal for those with greater mobility needs.

There are cosy lounges to relax in with loved ones or enjoy a range of experiences.  

The Pavilion Residential and Nursing Home also has a hair salon, with a mobile hairdresser visiting for appointments with the residents.  
 

Residents enjoy delicious, home cooked meals every day, from roast dinners with all the trimmings, to Fish and Chip Fridays and home-baking for Afternoon Tea.  

Mealtimes are a real highlight of the day and with our newly refurbished dining room, residents enjoy socialising over mealtimes together.

The team are devoted to enriching the lives of our residents with engaging and stimulating experiences to enjoy, these include:

• Trips outside our care home in Houghton le Spring in the home’s minibus. From museums and parks, to local garden centres and fish and chips by the sea.  
• Arts and crafts, bingo, and baking.  
• Pampering sessions.
• Animal visits.  
• Live music and dancing, including visits from local choirs, dance schools, school and church groups.
• Gentle exercise sessions.
• Community coffee mornings.
• Singing for the Brain music sessions with the Alzheimer’s Society. This music therapy is wonderful, especially for our residents who live with dementia.
• Religious services, where representatives from different churches support our residents’ spiritual needs.  

Loved ones are welcome to join in at any time. And if they can’t be there in person, they can catch up on what the residents have been doing on our private Facebook page, for the family and friends of our care home in Sunderland.

Our weekly fees are individual to each of our residents and are subject to a pre-admission assessment, which is required to understand the level of care and support needed.
