Westmead is a welcoming home situated within walking distance of the famous Portobello Market, one of London’s most popular tourist attractions.
Situated in the trendy and vibrant Notting Hill area of London, the home lies on the route of the Notting Hill Carnival, one of the country’s most famous parades and is within walking distance of Westbourne Park tube station.
The care home has been designed with welcoming lounge and dining rooms and cosy bedrooms, which provide a warm place for our residents to rest and relax.
The home’s dedicated team provides a range of care and support for our residents, including residential and dementia care.
We welcome visits from family and friends and have an open door policy, so whether loved ones like to pop in for a coffee in our café area, or take part in an activity, we encourage them to become part of the community within our home.
Our 42 bedrooms, all have television points and our home is Wi-Fi enabled throughout. We encourage our residents to make their rooms their own, by bringing personal ornaments, pictures and even small items of furniture.
We have communal lounges and dining rooms, which are all areas for our residents to use as they wish, whether they enjoy taking part in activities, catching up with friendly faces or simply reading a good book.
The attractive garden is secure and features flower beds and a seating area to relax in the warmer weather. Volunteers from outside the home regularly come and take part in a gardening club which our residents really enjoy.
Westmead’s key features include:
- Several lounge areas and dining rooms
- A hairdressing room
- A café area for residents and their visitors
- Secure landscaped gardens
- Wi-Fi enabled throughout the home.
Our care team is on-hand 24 hours a day, every day of the year and staff are dedicated to delivering care with kindness.
To ensure we continue to provide the best standards of care and support to our residents, we recruit and train only the best staff.
Whilst they receive a variety of on-going training to ensure their skills remain up-to-date, along with an enhanced DBS check (formerly CRB), it is their dedication to our residents which makes them truly special.
We believe it is important that our residents spend their time as they choose, so we have a dedicated activities person to support them to take part in interesting activities, rekindle old past times and try new things.
This could be anything from exercise sessions, arts and crafts and monthly visits from representatives from the local museum, Pets as Therapy visits and art and reading groups with residents at a local sheltered housing scheme.
We have a hairdressing room where our residents can enjoy being pampered with visits from our mobile hairdresser.
We pride ourselves on treating people as individuals, so all our residents have care plans tailored to their individual medical, social and emotional needs. We review care plans on a regular basis and involve family and friends in this process wherever possible.
The range of personal care services we can provide, in partnership with local professionals, include:
- Optical care
- Dental care
- Key worker
