Asra House is an attractive care home located in a quiet leafy residential area. Close to Leicester’s ‘Golden Mile’ of shops and restaurants, it has access to bus routes in and out of the city.
Our dedicated team, who speak several Asian languages, provide a range of care and support tailored to our residents’ cultural and spiritual needs, including residential care, dementia care and respite care.
Our care home has been designed with the usual comforts you’d expect, with two beautifully decorated lounges, landscaped gardens and a bright and airy conservatory.
The home also features a special Hindu temple, prayer room and separate kitchens for the preparation of traditional vegetarian and non-vegetarian Asian cuisine.
However it’s the small personal touches and our friendly team, who care for our residents as if they were members of their own family, which make Asra House a true home from home.
We welcome visits from family and friends and have an open door policy, so whether loved ones like to pop in for a coffee or take part in an activity, we encourage them to become part of the community within our home.
We hold regular meetings for residents and relatives, enabling our residents and their loved ones to be directly involved in everyday life at Asra House.
Many of our 40 spacious bedrooms have en-suites, lounges and kitchenettes. All of our bedrooms have television points.
Bedrooms are tastefully decorated and furnished, although we do encourage our residents to bring personal ornaments, pictures and small items of furniture to make their rooms their own.
We have several lounges and a conservatory for our residents to use as they wish, whether taking part in activities, catching up with friends and family or simply reading a good book.
Our dining rooms provide a welcoming atmosphere to enjoy delicious home-cooked meals in the company of others, with separate kitchens for the preparation of traditional vegetarian and non-vegetarian Asian cuisine.
The extensive gardens are landscaped for our residents who like to do a spot of light gardening and features a gazebo.
A sacred retreat for our residents to worship, our home has a Hindu temple, as well as a prayer room.

To ensure we continue to provide the best standards of care and support to our residents, we recruit and train only the best staff.
Whilst they receive a variety of on-going training to ensure their skills remain up-to-date, along with an enhanced DBS check (formerly CRB), it is their dedication to our residents which makes them truly special.
We believe it is important that our residents spend their time as they choose, so have a dedicated activities person to support them to take part in interesting activities, rekindle old past times and try new things.
Regular activities on offer include everything from a gardening club, visits to local schools and temples using our minibus, live Bollywood music, bhajans and cinema sessions.
We pride ourselves on treating people as individuals, so all our residents have care plans tailored to their individual medical, social and emotional needs. We review care plans on a regular basis and involve family and friends in this process wherever possible.

Our catering team prides themselves on preparing nutritious, seasonal home-cooked Asian cuisine, along with mouth-watering home-baked cakes for afternoon tea.
Residents help us to shape the menus and our catering team spends time with them to get feedback on the dishes and their likes and dislikes. They are also able to cater for a variety of dietary requirements.
Breakfast includes a wide variety of choice from cereals and toast to a traditional cooked breakfast.
Lunch and dinnertimes see a selection of sandwiches, homemade soups, salads, jacket potatoes and hot meals such as a Sunday roast with all the trimmings and favourites including fish and chips, cottage pie and traditional vegetarian and non-vegetarian Asian cuisine.
