The Park Residential and Nursing Home provides residential and nursing care for older people in a homely, comfortable environment with warm and friendly staff. We offer the highest standard of care and access to a variety of services, activities and facilities designed to support people to increase their independence.

Accommodation

The Park has 41 bedrooms with en-suite toilets. All rooms have a telephone point, an emergency call system and some have individual patios that open onto the enclosed landscaped gardens and seating area.

We have an activities room, a hairdressing salon and a hospitability room. We also have two separate dining rooms and lounges where people can relax and socialise. Individuals can also benefit from visiting chiropodists, dieticians, specialist nurses and other professionals.

The Park is situated near to the cricket ground and is close to the city centre whilst being within close proximity to the local community with a range of shops, a church and frequent bus services.

Our team

Our care team is on-hand 24 hours a day, every day of the year and staff are dedicated to delivering care with kindness.

To ensure we continue to provide the best standards of care and support to our residents, we recruit and train only the best staff.

Whilst they receive a variety of on-going training to ensure their skills remain up-to-date, along with an enhanced PVG check, it is their dedication to our residents which makes them truly special.

Activities

At The Park, we make the experience a fulfilling and enriching one for everyone who lives with us. People can choose to take part in a wide variety of social and leisure activities including musical entertainment, church services, anniversary events, fundraising events, trips into town, outings in and around the local area, clothes shows, monthly bingo and meals out with people from nearby nursing homes.

We encourage regular interaction with the local community and welcome friends and family to be involved through regular visits and participation in special activities, events and open days.

Care and Support

We aim to empower residents to make their own choices about how they live their lives and believe that every individual irrespective of their physical, social or psychological condition has the right to be treated with dignity and respect and supported to maintain choice and control over their own lives.

We understand that people bring with them a life story of achievements, events and life experiences and know that this information is essential to ensure a tailored care package for each individual’s specific needs, particularly those with memory loss.

Our person-centred assessments are all tailored to the whole person and we will look at what people can do, not just what they need assistance with. Most importantly we ensure that the individual themselves and their loved ones help us to put together a bespoke plan of care. We appreciate how difficult the decision is to move into permanent or even short stay care and we aim to make this transition as easy as possible.

Home-cooked meals

Meals are an important part of the day at The Park. Our expert catering team prepares a varied menu of fresh home cooked food every day and we cater for individual likes and dislikes from a cultural, religious or choice perspective.
