Located in a coastal town of Fleetwood in Lancashire, close to the picturesque promenade, there are some wonderful sights for our residents to see nearby their residential and nursing home.
We regularly go out and about into the local community, especially to the seafront at Fleetwood, where our residents love nothing more than enjoying an ice cream overlooking the beach. Within walking distance of the home there is also a large boating lake, as well as the Marine Hall, with all its fantastic shows and musical performances.
Laughter and music
Guy’s Court is a happy home where the staff and residents genuinely enjoy one another’s company. The communal areas are often filled with the sound of spontaneous singing – we are very rarely in tune but that’s just fine!
There is so much for the residents, who receive residential and nursing care, to enjoy, including toddlers visiting from the nearby nursery. People from St Wulstan’s Church next door to the care home regularly join us for afternoon tea. Our residents are also welcomed along to the church for games of bingo with people from the local community. Some of our residents also enjoy going on trips to the local pub for a chat over a pint.
Members of Cleveleys Writers often pop over to see us and read poetry and we also welcome visits from singers and musicians, who play the ukulele and guitar. We are very lucky to have a talented young starlet who auditioned for singing competition The X Factor, who comes to Guy’s Court and other residential and nursing homes in the area to sing for the residents.
Just a short drive away in Fleetwood there is a small petting farm, where our residents can handle ducklings and stroke guinea pigs. Nearby is a memorial park which benefitted from £2.5m funding from Heritage Lottery, which is a special spot our residents like to visit.
Words from the people who matter most
“The staff were outstanding and person-centered. They couldn't do enough. We visited numerous times to find my father in very good spirits and that all his needs were taken care of at all times. Most importantly my father also was happy with plenty of staff around. It really felt very homely and made us all feel very at ease.”

“All managers and staff have been extremely welcoming and kind to my Great Uncle.
It's everything I hoped it was going to be. You can tell all the staff really care about my uncle's welfare and dignity which makes it much more settling for a family member like me.”
