Situated in the residential area of Calderwood, a short drive from East Kilbride town centre, Forefaulds Care Home is a stone’s throw from some lovely local attractions, including the National Museum of Rural Life and Calderglen Country Park.
Our dedicated team provides a range of care and support for our residents, including nursing, dementia, palliative and respite care.
Forefaulds has 53 spacious bedrooms, most of which are en-suite, all come with nurse call systems for extra peace of mind. They also have television points and internet access.

Our residents can also enjoy delicious home-cooked meals in the company of others, in our welcoming dining rooms.

There is also a ‘Spirit Within’ lounge, which is a calming and soothing area where we play relaxing sounds such as running water and bird song.
The home has two attractive, secure courtyard gardens, with raise flower beds for our residents who like to do a spot of light gardening.

Our care team is on-hand 24 hours a day, every day of the year and staff are dedicated to delivering care with kindness.
To ensure we continue to provide the best standards of care and support to our residents, we recruit and train only the best staff.
Whilst they receive a variety of on-going training to ensure their skills remain up-to-date, along with an enhanced PVG check, it is their dedication to our residents which makes them truly special.
We believe it is important that our residents spend their time as they choose, so have a dedicated activities person to support them to take part in interesting activities, rekindle old past times and try new things.
Regular activities on offer include gentle exercise classes, pet therapy sessions, visits from children at our local nursery, arts and crafts and games, including garden games.
Our residents also enjoy trips out in our minibus to places of interest, including the theatre, cinema and barge trips. Representatives from our local church also regularly conduct services within the home.
The home also has a hairdressing salon for our residents, who can enjoy weekly visits from our mobile hairdresser.
We pride ourselves on treating people as individuals, so all our residents have care plans tailored to their individual medical, social and emotional needs. We review care plans on a regular basis and involve family and friends in this process wherever possible.
