Basingfield Court is an attractive newly refurbished care home in the heart of Old Basing, a beautiful historic village in Hampshire.

A short drive from Basingstoke town centre, the care home is close to all the shops, restaurants, a theatre, art gallery and other attractions the area has to offer.

Our dedicated team provides a range of care and support for our residents, including residential care and respite care.

Our care home has been designed with the usual comforts you’d expect such as welcoming lounges with fireplaces, a light and airy conservatory, homely dining rooms, landscaped gardens and cosy bedrooms, which provide a warm and safe place for our residents to rest and relax.

However it’s the small personal touches and our friendly team, who care for our residents as if they were members of their own family, which make Basingfield Court a true home from home.

We welcome visits from family and friends and have an open door policy, so whether loved ones like to catch up over a coffee in our on-site coffee lounge or take part in an activity, we encourage them to become part of the community within our home.

We hold regular meetings for residents and relatives, enabling our residents and their loved ones to be directly involved in everyday life at Basingfield Court.

Pre-bookable respite care

Our caring and compassionate team at Basingfield Court now provide pre-bookable residential respite care. Loved ones can enjoy a short-term stay in one of our lovely bedroom suites in a true home from home, whilst carers can take a break of their own.

For more information on short-term pre-bookable respite care please call our team.

The majority of our 52 en-suite bedrooms are complete with their own kitchenettes, lounge areas and wet rooms. The suites are spacious enough to socialise with family and friends and support our residents to maintain independence.

Bedrooms are tastefully decorated and furnished, although we do encourage our residents to bring personal ornaments, pictures and small items of furniture to make their rooms their own.

We have several lounges and a light and airy conservatory for our residents to use as they wish, whether taking part in activities, catching up with friends and family or simply reading a good book.

Our dining rooms provide a welcoming atmosphere to enjoy delicious home-cooked meals in the company of others.

The large level access garden is landscaped with raised flower beds for our residents who like to do a spot of light gardening and includes a relaxing seating area.

Basingfield Court’s features include:

  • Spacious bedrooms suites
  • Several lounge areas and a conservatory
  • Dining rooms where our residents enjoy home-cooked meals
  • Large landscaped gardens with raised flower beds
  • A hairdressing salon
  • Coffee lounge
  • wi-fi logo  Wi-Fi enabled throughout the home.

Our team

Our care team is on-hand 24 hours a day, every day of the year and staff are dedicated to delivering care with kindness.

To ensure we continue to provide the best standards of care and support to our residents, we recruit and train only the best staff.

Whilst they receive a variety of on-going training to ensure their skills remain up-to-date, along with an enhanced DBS check (formerly CRB), it is their dedication to our residents which makes them truly special.

We believe it is important that our residents spend their time as they choose, so have a dedicated activities person to support them to take part in interesting activities, rekindle old past times and try new things.

We have a hairdressing salon and our residents also enjoy being pampered with manicures and hand massages.

Regular activities on offer include everything from baking, animal therapy, table-top games, bingo, quizzes and visits from various performing arts entertainers.

Care and Support

We pride ourselves on treating people as individuals, so all our residents have care plans tailored to their individual medical, social and emotional needs. We review care plans on a regular basis and involve family and friends in this process wherever possible.

The range of personal care services we can provide, in partnership with local professionals, include:

  • Chiropody
  • Hairdressing
  • Optical care
  • Dental care
  • GP
  • Key worker

Home-cooked meals

Our catering team prides themselves on preparing nutritious, seasonal home-cooked meals, along with mouth-watering home-baked cakes for afternoon tea.

Residents help us to shape the menus and our catering team spends time with them to get feedback on the dishes and their likes and dislikes. They are also able to cater for a variety of dietary requirements.

Breakfast includes a wide variety of choice from cereals and toast to a traditional cooked breakfast.

Lunch and dinnertimes see a selection of sandwiches, homemade soups, salads, jacket potatoes and hot meals such as a Sunday roast with all the trimmings and favourites including fish and chips, cottage pie and a hearty casserole.

There is also an array of snacks and refreshments available throughout the day for residents and their loved ones if they get a bit peckish.
