Opened in 2019, our Wiltshire care home has stunning features; including spacious bedrooms with en-suite walk-in wet rooms, a cinema room, hairdressing salon, library, vintage café and beautifully landscaped gardens.
Our devoted team provide residential care, care for people living with Alzheimer’s and other types of dementia and nursing options, as well as adult respite care breaks – short stay breaks which are ideal for caregivers looking after elderly relatives at home.
We are thrilled to have opened our nursing floor, with highly qualified and experienced nursing staff on hand around the clock. It has 25 bedrooms where we can support those with complex medical conditions and also provide palliative and end of life care, featuring state of the art equipment.
If a resident comes to Briggs Lodge for residential care and later requires dementia or nursing support, we can truly provide a home for life, supporting their increasing needs.
We have a luxury art deco cinema, which has an authentic old movie theatre feel and images of iconic stars such as Audrey Hepburn and mood lighting.
There is an old-fashioned library, with wooden effect panelling. The local library visits us and other residential care homes in Wilshire to refresh the titles and bring books our residents have ordered. This room has a large balcony, with high glass panelling, where residents can admire the gardens with family and friends.
We also have a vintage tearoom, with fine china and bunting, opening out onto another balcony with garden views. There are freshly baked cakes and biscuits, and in our dining rooms our residents enjoy delicious seasonal, home-cooked cuisine.
There’s a lovely hair and beauty salon, complete with a nail bar and we have quiet lounges away from the main open plan living areas.
All of our bedrooms are spacious and come with en-suite wet-room showers. They are beautifully decorated, with residents supported to personalise them to truly make them their own.
The beautifully landscaped gardens have raised plant wooden planters and wheelchair friendly pathways. We also have a garden room which is a lovely space to relax in the sunshine with family and friends.
At Briggs Lodge Residential and Nursing Home our team provide person-centred activities which truly enrich our residents’ lives.
There are reminiscence activities for those living with Alzheimer’s and other types of dementia or memory loss. And not forgetting our pamper therapies, poetry recitals and music and movement sessions.
Our home is in a prime location on the main London Road, which makes us much more accessible from the town centre than other residential care homes in Devizes.
During ‘normal times’ our residents love to welcome youngsters from a school in Calne, Wiltshire, along with toddlers from our local pre-school in Devizes. They also enjoy trips to Avebury Circle in Marlborough, a popular spot for us to visit along with residents from other Wiltshire care homes.
If you are a caregiver looking after an elderly relative at home, you might feel in need of a carer relief break from time to time. We offer planned respite breaks as well as emergency respite breaks, which can be short term or for longer periods, depending on your needs. You can enjoy a carer break with peace of mind, knowing your loved one is in safe hands and enjoying a break of their own.
It is usual for residents in care homes to contribute to the cost of their own care. Some people have the resources to pay for their care in full, whilst others make means-tested contributions.
Our 2022 weekly care fees for residential care start from £971 and £1,188 for nursing care, but may be in the region of 20% more*, depending on your care needs and the type of bedroom that is right for you, from our standard rooms through to our premium bedroom options.
*If you require more specialist care such as 1-to-1 support, your weekly fee could be higher.
