Beechwood Care home is set in a leafy residential area, just a stone's throw away from the River Severn in Worcestershire. We provide a range of care services to our residents, including residential care, dementia care and respite care.
With just nine residents living in each of the four suites of our home, the warmth and family orientated feel of our care home is clear the moment you walk through the door.
Safe admissions into our care homes includes the option for new residents to self-isolate in their own home before joining us.
Our virtual tours enable you to find out more about life in our care home and ask any questions you may have to a senior member of our team.
Each suite feels like a small extended family, and our team rotates around the residential suites so that they get to really know the needs of every single resident. Where our residents live with dementia, we aim to have the same staff members on-site for that extra peace of mind and sense of familiarity, ensuring we provide the highest quality care.
As part of the care on offer, we provide short-term pre-bookable residential and dementia respite care. Respite care gives carers the opportunity to take a break of their own, safe in the knowledge that their loved one is receiving the very best type of care.
One of the main focal points at Beechwood is our extensive garden, which stretches the entire length of the care home. Our residents love to sit outside and listen to the birds. Volunteers at Sanctuary Care have transformed a separate central garden nestled in the middle of the home. With sensory planting, this area is beautiful and will continue to develop with a pergola on its way. The heated conservatory, with tables and comfortable chairs, looks out onto the gardens and there is also a summer house for activities.
Our day room offers a range of activities and is always an exciting aspect of daily life here at Beechwood. We hold weekly lunch clubs which are open to people from the local community in and around Upton-upon-Severn. Every Wednesday, our residents and their loved ones are invited to enjoy a traditional roast dinner with all the trimmings and a glass of wine. Our residents love to welcome local people into their home and the food is always delicious.
Every Friday morning, local people are also invited to join us for a game or two of bingo and have a chat over a cuppa and a slice of home-baked cake. There are also regular visits from our favourite Pets as Therapy dog, who the residents adore and who also benefit equally from a fuss and treats.
Other activities include a cookery club, arts and crafts, knit and natter sessions as well as trips outside of the care home in and around Worcestershire. The residents love to go to places like The Morgan Motor Company in Malvern. Other destinations for day trips have included West Midland Safari Park and Webbs of Wychbold garden centre in nearby Droitwich Spa.
Soon, ten members of the care team are set to be enrolled on a course run by Encourage Activity. This training, which focuses on how to make activities even more engaging, inclusive and stimulating, will greatly enhance the activities we are able to offer our residents.
It is usual for residents in care homes to contribute to the cost of their own care. Some people have the resources to pay for their care in full, whilst others make means-tested contributions. Our weekly fees are individual to each of our residents and are subject to a pre-admission assessment, which is required to truly understand the level of care and support needed. Our 2021 weekly care fees for residential care start from £747 but may be in the region of 20% more*, dependent on your care needs and the type of bedroom that is right for you, from our standard rooms through to our premium bedroom options. *If you require more specialist care such as 1-2-1 support your weekly fee could be higher.
